Wow! I am so excited for this guidebook. As someone who has always been hesitant to step into teaching roles for kiddos, this guidebook allows for grace, offers unending encouragement and countless resources. It is a super solid guidebook on how to mentor our littles into knowing the Lord deeper and better while also growing our own understanding and deepening our faith. We are going to raise a generation of kids that will grow up feeling seen and heard, and knowing they are loved by the God of the universe. I am excited to have this as a resource as my children grow, as well as offer this to other parents and mentors as a resource.

Together: Strong in Spirit is a great tool for adults to teach kids about the character of God. In each session, kids will have the opportunity to connect emotionally before they connect spiritually with their mentor. I loved going through the prayer guide with my granddaughter. It made her more comfortable in praying out loud. We loved the coloring pages. We met in person one time and by Zoom the other times. It was so sweet to color in person with her. This is a great way to build relationships and share our faith. I have several favorite things about this guide, including the nervous caterpillar in the ‘God Is With Me’ coloring page! I really appreciated the ‘How To Use This Guide’ at the beginning—the tone set here is actually incredible. The way that the mentors are empowered to do their best, to show up as themselves, to use the guide for what it is and not be bound to it, and to have reminders of what is impactful in the mentor’s life is so good. I also see the great value of Scripture. It’s important to lean on Scripture so I appreciate that this is the case in this guide. I love how this guide personalizes Scripture by putting our own name into the verse. It’s a really wonderful guide and I hope the framework will create great relationships and lay great foundations for kids growing into great and faithful adults.

I didn’t know when God laid it on my heart to ask someone to be my mentor that it would set in motion a desire for my young daughter to tell me that she wanted to begin praying for her own mentor. We prayed and God brought someone into her life when she was 13. Oh how I would have loved a children’s mentoring guide like this when she was younger. I believe I would have found a mentor sooner if I had a guide like this to equip a mentor. Mentoring is sometimes viewed as an adult experience. I’m here to tell you the desire in our little ones is strong for connection and truth. Anyone who loves Jesus will be equipped as every detail in this guide is laid out so beautifully with so much wiggle room to fit the needs of the child. It is never too early to guide them in understanding who God is and how we can know Him better through the power and discipline of our prayers. This is an inspiring guide full of wisdom, teaching our children the importance of understanding God’s character and seeking Him in prayer so that their faith can begin to build deep, immovable roots.
